James Street Flood Defence

The travellers site on James Street, York runs parallel to the River Foss and was prone to flooding.

 

We constructed a defence wall that comprised of engineering brick with a 150mm cavity filled worth steel reinforced concrete. Rubber water stops were built to expansion joints within the wall.
